A mother's experience of Oxford University Hospitals Maternity Services in 2019:
My second child was born via planned caesarean section. This went well and I felt cared for.
I was admitted to the high dependency unit straight after because of heavy bleeding. There was one nurse for four beds - it should have been 1:1. There was no privacy.
When the nurse needed to lift me to check my bleeding, there was no one to help her so my husband had to do it. It was hideous and he was terrified by the clots.
When we were moved to a regular ward the next day, we were never checked on. I asked to be discharged. It took 12 hours for the paperwork to be sorted out.
The wards are hideous. No privacy, no food, no care or support.
